Operator Assistance

Operator Assistance (OPA) automatically answers outside calls and
provides dialing options to the outside callers. OPA lets an outside caller
dial an extension or hunt group directly. You or a co-worker do not have
to screen the call.

When OPA answers a call, the caller hears a recording of their dialing
options. For example, the announcement could say, "Hello. You have
reached XYZ Corporation. Dial 4 for Technical Service or 5 for Sales."
You may be able to record the messages callers hear. Before recording,
check with your communications manager to find out about the OPA
messages. To use Operator Assistance, your system must have an
OPA/VAU PCB (ONYX II/III/IV) or VMU Module (ONYX VS).
