5: No Memory Card? (All Modes)

If

Release locked

(the default setting) is selected, the shutter-release

is disabled when no memory card is inserted. Choose

Enable release

to enable the shutter-release button when no memory card is inserted.
Photographs will be displayed in the monitor but will not be saved.

6: Image Review (All Modes)

If

On

(the default setting) is selected, photographs will automatically

be displayed in the monitor for about for seconds after shooting. If

Oﬀ

is selected, photographs can be displayed in the monitor by pressing
the

button.

7: ISO Auto (P, S, A, and M Modes Only)

If

Oﬀ

(the default setting) is selected, ISO sensitivity will remain ﬁ xed at

the value selected with the

ISO

button ( 43) or using the

ISO sensitiv-

ity

option in the shooting menu ( 83).

If

On

is selected, ISO sensitivity will automatically be adjusted if optimal exposure can not be

achieved at the selected value (ﬂ ash level is adjusted appropriately). The maximum value for
auto ISO sensitivity can be selected using the

Max. sensitivity

sensitivity will only be adjusted if underexposure would result at the shutter speed selected

is selected, the control panel and viewﬁ nder show

Auto ISO control is not available when a value over ISO 1600 is selected for ISO sensitivity. ISO sen-
sitivity can not be set to values over 1600 when

may be underexposed in photos taken with the ﬂ ash at slow shutter speeds, in daylight, or against a
bright background. Choose a ﬂ ash mode other than slow sync or select mode
