Playback
Randomly spaced bright pixels
(“noise”) appear in image.
Shutter speed too slow or ISO sensitivity is high as
the subject is dark. Noise can be reduced by:
•
Using flash.
•
Specifying a lower ISO sensitivity setting.
•
Using a scene mode which has noise
reduction ability.
Pictures are too dark
(underexposed).
•
Flash is off.
•
Flash window is blocked.
•
Subject is beyond flash range.
•
Adjust exposure compensation.
•
Select
High ISO sensitivity auto
for
ISO
sensitivity
in the shooting menu, or raise the
ISO sensitivity.
•
Subject is backlit. Select
o
(
Backlight
scene
mode) or use fill flash.
Pictures are too bright
(overexposed).
Adjust exposure compensation.
Unexpected results when flash
set to
V
(auto with red-eye
reduction).
If taking pictures with
V
(auto with red-eye
reduction) or fill flash with slow sync and red-eye
reduction when scene mode is set to
Night
portrait
, In-Camera Red Eye Fix may be applied to
areas not affected by red-eye. Use any scene mode
other than
Night portrait
, and change the flash
to any other settings other than
V
(auto with
red-eye reduction) and try shooting again.
