5. CONFIGURATION
The 4-fold dimmer switch, Bluetooth
®
(72-504) provides four contacts. These are grouped into two channels (channel A and channel B), each containing two contacts (state O and state I). The contacts are referred to as AO,
AI, BO and BI.

Multiple radio telegrams with the state of all four contacts, together with the unique device identification, are transmitted whenever the energy bow is pushed or released together with one of the four contacts. This makes
it possible to distinguish between a short push or a push and hold action (long press) and control dimmers or blinds seamlessly. The 4-fold dimmer switch, Bluetooth
®
has two modes: the normal mode (default) and the
configuration mode. Up to four button combinations can be configured.
The Niko dimmer switch can be paired with one or more Bluetooth
®
low energy (BLE) 2,4 GHz receivers, such as smart lighting technology from Casambi
®
, Xicato
®
, Sylsmart
®
.
The pairing can be done in three ways:
1. via a special button sequence (SBC) on the 4-fold dimmer switch, Bluetooth ®
2. via a two-way near field communication (NFC) device and related software application from the Bluetooth
®
receiver vendor
3. Via a QR-code scan and related software application from the Bluetooth ® receiver vendor
For each of the three pairing options, follow the pairing procedure described in the manual or mobile application of your selected Bluetooth
®
receiver. The receiver defines which push button of the 4-fold dimmer switch,
Bluetooth ® needs to be pushed to configure the desired action (switch on / off the light, dim up / down, move shutters …).
Important: To optimize the reception of the Bluetooth
®
telegrams, the receiver should permanently be set in receive mode on the selected radio channels or – if this is not possible – periodically for a minimum time period.
In this case, the recommended settings are: 30 ms scan period and 23 ms scan interval.
