The Nightlife Media Player
The
Nightlife Media Player
is the core component of Nightlife
Music’s commercial music and video streaming service. The Single
Audio Media Player is for businesses and venues without screens. It
uses music and announcements (if required) to engage and inform
consumers.
System Overview
A plug-and-play design and pre-programmed music schedule means the
Media Player
is easy to
install and will automatically begin playing music upon start-up.
Additional
Nightlife-supplied devices
can expand the Media Player’s functionality, however
the use of these will depend on a business’ requirements and capabilities, existing AV and IT
infrastructure, as well as the need for
staff control
or
consumer interaction
.

Playing Audio
The Single Audio Media Player
must
be connected to
audio distribution
equipment. Other Nightlife
Media Players can also be connected to
video distribution
equipment
where screens are available.
Establishing a Network and Internet connection
The
Media Player
should be connected to a
network with internet access
. This enables music
downloads, software updates, IT support and app control. A local network connection ensures
Nightlife’s apps and devices can control the Media Player, even if the internet connection is
unavailable or lost. These connections can be established using existing IT infrastructure, or a
Nightlife Router can be supplied to create a standalone network.
controlling and Interacting with the Media Player
Staff and consumers can control or interact with the Media Player via iOS, Android and Web apps,
or Nightlife-supplied devices.
The
Manage My Nightlife app
is for
staff control
of the Media Player, enabling users to change
tracks, queue music lists, take requests and more. The app can be downloaded to personal
devices or accessed via an on-site
Nightlife Tablet
(if supplied as part of an installation).
The crowdDJ
®
app is for
consumer interaction
with the Media Player, encouraging users to get
involved with the music experience by requesting songs and adding them to the playlist. The app
can be downloaded to personal devices, or accessed at a
crowdDJ
®
Kiosk
(if supplied as part of
an installation).
