7.7 Cleaning
1. Cleaning the chart ASSY. and mask ASSY.
1) Remove the disc cover. (See 5.4.)
2) Turn on the system power.
3) Disconnect the P7 (J7) and P6 (J6) connectors on the main board (34801-BA01).
4) Turn the mask disc and the chart disc with hands, and check that there are no dust
and dirt on them.
5) When dirt or dust is on the chart disc, wipe it with lens cleaning paper dampened with
ethanol.
6) When there is dirt or dust on the polarizing filter, wipe it with lens cleaning paper
dampened with water.
* Do not wipe the polarizing filter strongly because it is sensitive for flaws.
7) When there is dirt or dust on the mask disc, remove it with a tool such as a precision
screwdriver as wiping the hole edge gently.
* Be careful not to scratch the chart disc.
8) Turn off the system power.
9) Reassemble the removed parts in reverse order.
2. Cleaning of the rear lens ASSY. and front lens ASSY.
1) Remove the rear lens ASSY. and front lens ASSY. (See 6.1.4 and 6.1.5.)
2) Check that there are no dirt and dust on the rear lens ASSY. and front lens ASSY.
3) When dirt or dust is on the chart disc, wipe it with lens cleaning paper dampened with
ethanol.
4) Reattach the rear lens ASSY. and the front lens ASSY. in reverse order. (See 6.1.4
and 6.1.5.)
3. Cleaning of the C lens ASSY.
1) Remove the C lens ASSY.
2) Check that there are no dirt and dust on the C lens ASSY.
3) When dirt or dust is on the chart disc, wipe it with lens cleaning paper dampened with
ethanol.
4) Reattach the C lens ASSY. in reverse order.
