5.1) Replacing the batteries
If you use non-rechargeable batteries, remove the panel on the bot-
tom of the box and replace the batteries, taking care to adhere to the
polarity marked on the bottom of the battery compartment.
5.2) Disposal of the batteries
Discharged batteries are highly polluting and it is therefore compul-
sory to dispose of them in the appropriate disposal containers.
5.3) Recharging the batteries
If you use rechargeable batteries, recharge them by connecting the
battery charger to a power socket and then to the TTP. Leave to
recharge for about 15 hours, then disconnect. If the time for which
the batteries retain their charge decreases significantly, they have
deteriorated and should be replaced.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary alkaline batteries. If
you want to power the TTP with the battery charger power
supply unit it is advisable to remove the batteries.
!
5.4) Environmental protection measures
This product consists of various types of materials, some of which
can be recycled.
Some components may contain polluting substances. Do
not discard this product as ordinary refuse but find out about
the recycling or disposal systems for the product and comply
with the methods prescribed in local regulations.
!
The TTP programmer does not normally require any type of mainte-
nance as it does not contain parts subject to wear. Only the batter-
ies need to be replaced periodically (or recharged in the case of
rechargeable batteries).
When the batteries are discharged, the TTP emits a long beep at
intervals of about 10 seconds; on the third beep, the TTP switches
off automatically.
