General information for the installer
Boiler room
The boiler room must be built in accordance with applica-
ble building regulations.
Provision for good air supply. The boiler room’s air intake
must be as large as the smoke pipe duct.
Chimney
VEDEX 1000 has a vertical flue pipe connection with an
external diameter of 133 mm.
Different chimney heights are required depending on ver-
sion. In addition, a number of other factors, for example,
wind and terrain conditions, nearby buildings etc, can
affect the draught conditions of the chimney. Minimum
chimney draught for satisfactory wood lighting is 20 Pa.
If the draught is less than 15 Pa a flue gas fan should be
installed.
The following table showing several different versions of
chimney is a recommendation, however, the aforemen-
tioned factors must also be taken into consideration.
Draught regulator
VEDEX 1000 is supplied with a draught regulator, which
is installed to the left between the soot door and the filler
door.
Set according to the instructions. (see Adjusting the
draught regulator). The regulator does not usually have to
be inspected thereafter.
The sensor is easy to replace without having to remove the
draught regulator from the boiler.

Installing ceramic grates
Place the ceramic inserts in through the ash box in the fol-
lowing order and remove in the opposite.

Ensure that sweeping can be carried out in
accordance with the applicable regulations.
If in doubt, contact a chimney sweep.
