Appendix D - Starter Interrupt Installation Notes
To install the Starter Interrupt feature requires the following components:
•
VT-2300 Adapter Cable (DW-00-M0047)
•
Starter Interrupt Relay (DW-00-M0049)
Using the VT-2300 Adapter Cable, cut the orange and white (PIN4) wire from the 4-pin connector and
strip it. Then connect the orange and white wire to the orange wire of the Starter Interrupt Relay.
Follow the wiring diagram below to connect the Starter Interrupt Relay red relay wire to the ignition
switch wire and the white relay wire to the starter wire.
Important: Relay wiring is designed to enable the relay only when energized by the ignition switch
engaging the starter.
Off State – Starter Interrupt Not Active (default state)
The relay setup receives its power from the vehicle’s ignition switch. When the Starter Interrupt is not
active and the vehicle's ignition is off, the relay is not energized. No current or voltage is consumed.
