Prefix/Suffix

Intruducation

1D barcode message could contain digits, letters and symbols, etc. 2D barcode message

could contain more data such as Chinese characters and other 2 bytes characters.

Practically, barcode message is insufﬁcient for usage. For example, the barcode format,

the date or a

“

new line character

”

can be useful. Mostly these informations are not

included in a barcode and thus to keep it short and ﬂexible possible.

Preﬁx/Sufﬁx appended to barcode message fulﬁlls the usage mentioned above. They

can be appended, removed and modiﬁed without changing the original barcode message.
