Setting Hours in the Time:
For games that extend beyond 99 minutes and 59 seconds, hours can be added to the time through the function menu.
When there are hours set, the time will display hours:minutes and the left-most digit in the time will flash a segment at
a rate of 1 second so it is known that the time is running. A maximum of 9 hours can be added to the time, for a
maximum time of 9:59:59. When the time drops below 1 hour, the time display will shift to minutes:seconds.
Segment Timer Programming:
A segment timer is used for pacing organized practices. Typically, a segment consists of a drill that is run for a set
period of time. Once the time has expired, a new segment is entered and the drill changes. The segment timer will
count down from the programmed segment time to zero. The current segment number is shown in the HOME
score display. The Nevco Portable has a maximum of 40 segments. To program the segments:
a.
Press the function key until the time display says “SEgd“.
b.
Press the + or - key to enable the segment timer. The time display says “SEgE“.
c.
Press HOME and then the + key to enter the segment timer programming mode.
d.
The time area will now display the time for the segment shown in the HOME score.
e.
Press HOME and then the + and – key to scroll through segments 01 - 40.
f.
Adjust the time to the desired length for each segment in the same way that time is adjusted in the normal
scoreboard mode. For example, if segment 1 is to be 30 seconds. Press the SECOND key and then + until 30
appears in the seconds portion of the display time.
g.
To disable the segment timer, press the function key until the time display reads “SEgE”. Press the + or –
key and the time displays “SEgd”.
h.
Pressing the function key anywhere in the segment timer menu jumps out of segment timer programming.
i.
While out of the function mode, RUN starts the timer, STOP halts the timer, and Clear resets the segment to
segment 01.
