KEYPAD FUNCTIONS

Power ON/OFF button. At default settings („Auto Off“ is displayed) the unit will
power off automatically after 5 min non-use to save battery power. Pressing the
button again, this function will be turned off (“Auto Off” is no longer displayed).
[dB/dBm]
Pressing this key toggles between measuring method absolute level (dBm)
and attenuation (dB). Holding the key until „HELD“ is displayed (appx 7 sec)
switches to
µ
W mode.
[Zero]
Pressing the key will set the OPM to zero position. (see note below)
[Ref]
This key recalls the last reference value, which is stored in memory. To define
a new reference value press the key 2 times. When OPM is set to dB mode,
the difference in dB between reference value and current input signal will be
displayed.

Pressing this key selects the required wavelength according to the optical fiber
and the light source connected to OPM.
[ Ext. Power Indicator]
The external power indicator LED is lit when an external AC
power adapter is connected.
NOTE
How to set OPM to zero position:
• Ensure that the dust cap fits tight at the optical fiber input in order to prevent it from
extraneous light.
• After unit is powered up, keep the „Zero“ button pressed until „SUCC“ is displayed.
This confirms the correct zero setting.
• If „ERR“ is displayed, the auto zeroing procedure was unsuccessful. Check again,
whether the dust cap fits tight to connector and perform zero setting again.
• If still unsuccessful, please contact customer service of NetPeppers GmbH for
assistance.
