4. Installation
The NB800 (Rev. B02) is designed for mounting it on a wall or in a switch cabinet. Please consider
the safety instructions in chapter
and the environmental conditions in chapter
The following precautions must be taken before installing a NB800 (Rev. B02) router:
– Avoid direct solar radiation
– Protect the device from humidity, steam and aggressive fluids
– Guarantee sufficient circulation of air around the device
– The device is for indoor use only
Attention:
NetModule routers are not intended for the end consumer market. The
device must be installed and commissioned by a certified expert.
4.1. Installation of the Router
The NB800 (Rev. B02) is designed for mounting on a wall but it is also available with an optional
mounting kit for DIN rail. Please consider the safety instructions and the environmental conditions in
chapter
4.2. Installation of the Micro-SIM Card
One Micro-SIM card can be inserted in a NB800 (Rev. B02) router. To install the SIM card, you will
have to remove the SIM cover first. The SIM card connector has a push to insert, push to eject mech-
anism. So just push the SIM card into the connector until it’s fix. The cover should be closed again
afterwards.
Warning
– Please power off the router before inserting the SIM card.
– Do not use nano SIM card with adaptor to fit in micro SIM card slot. This can damage
SIM card connector.
4.3. Installation of the GSM/UMTS/LTE Antenna
NetModule routers will only operate efficiently in the cellular network if there is a good signal. A stub
antenna will be suitable for most applications. However, in some circumstances it might be necessary
to use remote antennas together with an extended cable (max. 3 meters) to reach a better location
offering an adequate signal. In doubt, please contact us and we would be pleased to assist you in
figuring out the best matching antenna setup for your application.
Keep in mind that effects caused by Faraday cages such as large metal surfaces (elevators, machine
housings, etc.), close meshed iron constructions and others may reduce signal reception significantly.
