WARNING!

If Desktop Mirror reaches the limit of the file path length it can 
handle, the Backup Mirror report shows: “skipping overly long 
name: <name of the file>.” When this warning is displayed, the file 
is not backed up. 

Manual Desktop Mirror Backups

Desktop Mirror allows you to manually back up new folders or modify existing folders.

To perform manual backups:

1. 

Select the folder or folders you want to back up. 

You can select multiple folders by pressing the 

Ctrl

 key while selecting the folders.

2. 

Select a synchronization option from the 

Tools

 menu, as follows:

•     

Synchronize Selected Items

.

 

Allows you to select only the folders you want to 

backup.

•     

Synchronize All Items

.

 

Backs up all new and modified folders listed.

Alternately, you can click the 

Synchronize

 icon on the right side of the screen. This 

option automatically includes all folders for backup. 

After folders are backed up, they are marked with a check mark and the message 
“Backup complete” displays on the status bar.
