Connecting the Modem to the Internet

Connect the Ethernet cable from the modem LAN port (
D)
to the Ethernet adapter in your
computer.

Now, turn on your computer. If software usually logs you in to your Internet connection,
do not run that software. Cancel it if it starts automatically.
d.
Connect the power adapter to the modem and plug it in to a power outlet. Verify the
following (see
Figure 10 on page 11
):
1. The power light is lit after turning on the modem.
2. The Ethernet light is on.
3. The ADSL light is green, indicating you are connected to the ADSL network.
Improperly connecting a filter to your modem will block your ADSL
connection.
