Common network connection problems
When I attempt to connect to my Net2Phone Max 8/16
through a serial cable connection, I do not see any text, or the
text that appears is distorted.
Make sure the connection settings are as follows:
Baud rate
19200
Parity
None
Character size
8
Stop Bit
1
Flow Control
None
Make sure the serial cable is connected and fastened to both
the Net2Phone Max 8/16 and your computer.
My network supports DHCP, but my Max 8/16 cannot obtain
correct network settings.
Make sure DHCP is enabled.
Make sure the RJ-45 LAN cable is connected securely to your
Net2Phone Max 8/16 and LAN, hub, or router.
Make sure that all network ports, routers, or hubs are live.
I set DHCP to ON, but my Net2Phone Max 8/16 cannot obtain
correct network settings.
Make sure your network supports DHCP.
Make sure your RJ-45 LAN cable is securely connected to both
the Max 8/16 and to the LAN, hub, or router.
Make sure that all network ports, routers, or hubs are live.
My analog phone does not have a period; how do I enter the
periods in my IP address and netmask?
Use the star key (
*
) in place of the periods.
When I enter a static IP Address into my Net2Phone Max 8/16
and restart the unit, the IP Address I entered is not saved.
Make sure DHCP is set to OFF.
If you entered the IP address through an analog phone, make
sure you press the # key before hanging up.
I changed the login password on my Max 8/16 and I forgot
the new password.
Log in as manager or sysadm. Note that the default
password for both is n2p.
