Cleaning the Instrument
Clean the outer surfaces of the instrument with a disinfectant wipe approved by your organization or company. If
a disinfectant wipe is not available, a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol can be applied to a clean, cotton or lint-free
cloth and used to clean and disinfect the instrument.
Cleaning the inside of the optical tube may be necessary if aberrant test results occur. At the bottom of the optical
tube is a lens that may be contaminated. To clean the lens, use the AccuPoint
®
Advanced NG cleaning swab moistened
with a solution of isopropyl alcohol (>70%). Be sure to turn the instrument upside down while cleaning the lens. After
cleaning, use a fresh cleaning swab to thoroughly dry the lens area.
CAUTION:
If liquid spills inside the sampler compartment, turn the instrument off and use the AccuPoint Advanced NG
cleaning swab to dry the interior surfaces.
Note:
The use of unapproved solvents and swabs inside the sampler compartment may damage the unit or leave
behind swab debris, adversely affecting instrument performance and test results.
