9 Troubleshooting
Problem Fault Solution
Fan will not start. Electrical supply not
connected.
Connect the electrical supply.
Switch supply or cable defect. Contact the distributor.
Radio interference
suppression defect.
Contact the distributor.
Motor protection activated. See below, ‘Motor protection activated.’
None or bad suction
capacity.
Switch not completely turned
on.
Turn switch on.
Clogged suction hose or inlet. 1. Disconnect suction hose.
2. Turn and suck in the opposite direction.
3. If still clogged, open suction hose with a rod.
Clogged filter. For filter bag and cartridge filter cleaning, see Section 7 Maintenance .
Leaking suction hose. Replace suction hose.
Leaking gaskets. Remove and replace damaged neoprene gaskets. Use suitable two-component
glue.
Discharge valve open. Close valve.
Dust in exhaust air. Filter wrongly or not installed. Check the filter and change if necessary.
Filter defect. Change filter.
Abnormal noise level. Leaking gaskets. Remove and replace damaged neoprene gaskets. Use suitable two-component
glue.
Sound absorbing material
defect.

Dismantle the silencer hood and remove dirt.
•
Replace damaged silencing material.
Motor protection
activated.
Power outage. Safe to reset motor protection. See section 6.3 Reset motor protection .
Restricted or no airflow.
•
Prevent overheating by ensuring that a flow of air passes the fan.
•
Make sure hoses, and the fan’s inlet and outlet are not blocked.
Motors rotating in the wrong
direction.
Control that the motors are running clockwise as seen from above. Start the fan
briefly, check the direction of rotation. Impeller rotation must match the arrow
on the fan housing.
Ball bearing temperature
sensor activated.
See below, ‘Ball bearing temperature sensor activated.’
Ball bearing temperature
sensor activated.
Ball bearing temperature too
high.
Listen for abnormal noise from the fan. If there is abnormal noise, contact the
nearest authorized distributor or Nederman service for technical advice.
