1 Preface
Thank you for using a Nederman product!

tification plate carefully before installation, use, and
service of this product. Replace documentation imme-
diately if lost. Nederman reserves the right, without

This product is designed to meet the requirements
of relevant EC directives. To maintain this status, all
installation, maintenance, and repair is to be done
by qualified personnel using only Nederman original
spare parts and accessories. Contact the nearest au-
thorized distributor or Nederman for advice on tech-
nical service and obtaining spare parts. If there are
any damaged or missing parts when the product is de-
livered, notify the carrier and the local Nederman rep-
resentative immediately.

2 Safety
2.1 Classification of important informa-
tion
This document contains important information that
is presented either as a warning, caution or note, ac-
cording to the following examples:
WARNING! Risk of personal injury

3 Description
See Figure 1 .
Check maxImum working pressure (MPa) on the ident-
tification label of the Hose Reel 888/889.
Ambient temperature: -10 °C - +60 °C.
* High pressure washing.
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage
• The Hose Reel 888/889 must not be used for
maximum temperature and maximum pres-
sure at the same time.
• Ensure that the reel and the fitted hose are
suitable for the desired media and applica-
tion.
4 Installation
See Figure 2 , Figure 3 and Figure 4 .
The Hose Reel 888/889 can be wall, floor or ceiling
mounted.
NOTE!
• Maximum installation height above floor
level is 4 m.
• When choosing the mounting place it should
be notified that the lifetime of the hose can
be affected by chemicals and strong UV- or
heat radiation.
• Select a level surface on which to mount the Hose
Reel 888/889 and use the template on the side of
the packing to mark the holes. Ensure that suitable
fixing bolts are used and that they are secure. The
bolts must stand a torque force of minimum 3800 N.
• Also, ensure that the hose can reach the whole area
that the connected equipment will operate in.
4.1 Hose fitting
See Figure 7 and Figure 8 .
1 Place the Hose Reel 888/889 on a suitable work-
ing bench.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Ensure that there is no tension in the
spring.
2 Feed the hose through the reel outlet and attach it
to the nipple on the drum shaft.
3 Mount the hose-stop close to the outer limit of the
hose.
4 Reel the hose on to the reel by turning the spring-
loaded hub with a tommy bar, see
Figure 7 item
5. Once the hose has been wound on to the drum,
make sure that it has the correct tension by turn-
ing the hub a further 2 - 6 revolutions.
5 Fit the inlet hose, min. length of 1.0 m.
6 Fit the reel.
7 Check that the required length of hose can be un-
reeled without stretching the spring to its limit.
