HOW TO REASSEMBLE THE FEED ECCENTRIC

ROD NO. D 85506 AND THE CONNECTING RODS

OF THE STITCH LENGTH REGULATING MECHANISM

(FIGS. 74 AND 75)

Insert the reverse stitch plate "5 " (which is connected

with the

reverse stitch control button) on the bushing " 6 " which is fixed

inside the casting of the arm and, at the same time, insert the

reverse stitch control button into its proper hole in the arm, from

the inside outwards. Proceed as follows: first insert the reverse

stitch control button into its hole in the arm, and then place the

plate " 5 " on bushing " 6 ".

Note:

The reverse stitch plate must be so positioned that its pin

" 10 " is located between the two thread portions of the regulating

shaft, as shown in Fig. 76.

Assemble the stitch length lever " 4 " (see Fig. 75) by inserting its

pivot " C " into the bushing " 6 " which is fixed to the inside of

the arm casting.

Note:

The stitch length lever " 4 " must be positioned in relation

to the reverse stitch lever " 5 " as shown in Fig. 36.

Slip the retaining ring " 2 " in the groove of pivot " C " of the

stitch length lever " 4 " (Fig. 75).

Assemble the feed eccentric connecting rod No. D 85506 with the

stitch regulator connecting rod " 1 " (see Fig. 76) in the following

manner:

Place connecting rod " 1 " (No. D 85512) on the pivot stud

" D " of the feed eccentric connecting rod No. D 85506.

Slip the forked portion of connecting rod No. D 85506 (with

connecting rod " 1 " hanging down on it) over the feed eccen

tric No. 20026.

Move the feed eccentric No. 20026, together with the connect-
