Searching for Particular Scenes

Skip Search

This video recorder will wind a tape forward or backward quickly to search for
particular scenes on the tape.

Fast forward (FF)

Pressing the fast forward (FF) button with the tape in STOP mode, the video
recorder will rapidly wind the tape forward. The display “FF” will appear on the TV
screen and on the Multi-Function Display briefly.

Rewind (REW)

Pressing the rewind (REW) button with the tape in STOP mode, and the video
recorder will rapidly wind the tape backward. The display “REW” will appear on the
TV screen and on the Multi-Function Display briefly.

Logic Search

While holding down either FF(during Fast Forward mode) or REW(during Rewind
mode), from the STOP mode, the picture will be watched at 9 times (NTSC recorded
tape: 7 times) faster than the normal playback speed (SP or LP recorded tape). When
you have reached the desired point of the tape, release the button (REW or FF) and
press PLAY.

Picture Search (CUE & REVIEW)

During playback, press either of the search buttons (REW or FF) to search for a
particular section of the tape. The indicator REW or CUE will appear on the TV
screen and on the Multi-Function Display. When the desired point in the tape has
been located, press PLAY to return to the normal playback mode. Visual searching
will only continue for about 3 minutes, then it will return to playback mode.

NOTES:

While searching, the audio portion is automatically muted.

While searching, noise streaks may appear in the picture.
