5-6 Using External Devices
External Keyboard/Mouse
You can add a full-size PS/2-style keyboard or PS/2-style mouse to your
NEC Versa using the Plug and Play feature. The PS/2 style keyboard and
the PS/2 style mouse are hot insertable allowing you to connect the
devices while the NEC Versa is powered on. You can continue to use the
system keyboard and VersaGlide touchpad while an external keyboard
or mouse is connected.
Note:
For information about disabling the
VersaGlide while an external mouse is connected,
refer to "How to Use BIOS Setup" in Chapter 3. The
Internal Mouse parameter in the Advanced CMOS
Setup section of the BIOS Setup parameters allows
you to enable or disable the VersaGlide touchpad.
To attach both an external keyboard and an external mouse at the same
time, use one of the following options NEC Y-adapter, NEC Versa Dock
or NEC Versa PortBar.
Note:
If you purchased this product outside the
U.S. or Canada, contact the local NEC CSD office or
their dealers for ordering information. Reference the
booklet, "Getting Service and Support in Asia,
Australia, and Europe," to find out how to contact the
local office in your country.
To connect an external keyboard or mouse simply connect the device to
the keyboard/mouse port. You are now ready to use your external
keyboard or mouse.
