Universal Serial Bus
A new external bus standard that supports data transfer rates of 12 Mbps
(12 million bits per second). A single USB port allows you to connect up to
127 peripheral devices such mice, modems, and keyboards. USB also
supports Plug-and Play installation and hot plugging. USB may eventually
replace serial and parallel ports.

VGA
Video Graphics Array. Graphics technology that supports up to 256 colors
and a graphics resolution of 640 by 480 pixels.
volatile memory
Storage media that loses its data when system power is turned off. Standard
memory and memory that you add to the NEC Versa are volatile memory.

warm boot
Process of resetting the computer without turning off the power through
keyboard input (pressing
Ctrl

Alt
, and
Del
keys simultaneously) or the reset
button. The system returns to an initial or arbitrarily selected condition.
waveform
A graphic representation of a sound wave as displayed on an oscilloscope,
which converts sound waves into electronic signals.
write
To record or store information to a storage device.
X
XGA
A video standard that offers 1024 x 768 resolution.
Z
Zoom Video
A direct high-speed connection between the video, audio, and graphics
subsystems within the computer. Zoom video provides the high-quality path
required for smooth video playback or TV tuner transmission.
