CD-ROM Drivers
This option is provided for Windows for Workgroups users who decide
not to use the NEC-provided system software. The CD-ROM drivers
on the Restore CD give you full CD-ROM reader functionality. If you
do not use these drivers, your CD reader may not function at its full
potential.
File Restore
The File Restore option lets you restore files from either the DOS or
Windows. Both methods are described next.
NOTE
To restore a Windows for Workgroups system, you must ex-
change the Windows 95 Restore CD that ships with your system for
the appropriate Windows for Workgroups Restore CD. Call the NEC
Diskette Fulfillment Center at 1-800-842-6446 for information on re-
ceiving the Windows for Workgroups Restore CD.
Restoring All Application Files in DOS
Restore all application files except the operating system to your hard disk as
follows:
1.
Insert the Restore CD into the CD-ROM reader and power on the
system.
2.
Select “File Restore” to restore all original files that were on the hard
disk C from the Restore CD.
3.
Read the on-screen File Restore explanation and press “Continue.”
4.
In the Start File Restore confirmation box, press “Yes.”
5.
Read the on-screen license agreement and select “I agree.” When recov-
ery is complete, a System Refill status screen appears.
6.
Press “OK.” The Restore CD menu reappears.
7.
Select “Exit” and remove the Restore CD from the reader.
