Execution Conditions
When performing restoration, it is necessary to meet the following conditions.
(1) MVs and RVs targeted for operation are set as a pair.
(2) The main operation of the operation target pair is in the separate status. However, this should not
be during execution of the separation.
(3) With regard to the pair set in the same disk array, the semi-synchronous mode cannot be specified.
When specifying the semi-synchronous mode, it should be for the pair set between disk arrays.
(4) The disk array in which the specified MV and RV are stored should not be in the freeze status.
(5) The operation target MV is registered in the volume correspondence table.
(6) The volume of the operation target MV and RV is a basic volume.
(Specifying a volume using dynamic volume function is not allowed.)
(7) MV must exist in the disk array under its own host’s control.
(8) Other applications should not use the target MV.
(9) The data file and the log file included in the database exist in the target RV.
(10) When specifying a database name with the -db option, only one database must exist in the target
MV.
(11) When specifying a database name with the -dbfile option, all databases that exist in the target MV
must be specified.
(12) A metafile should not exist in the target MV.
(13) The RV must have been unmounted from the host.
Figure 4-4 shows the conditions for executing snapshot restoration ((1) to (13) in the diagram refer to
the numbers above).
