Setup’s Main Menu appears and looks similar to the following screen.
How to Use Setup
The Setup utility Main Menu offers the following selections.
n
Standard CMOS Setup — Use this selection to modify basic system features such
as date, time, diskette drives, hard disk drives, and keyboard.
n
Advanced CMOS Setup — Use this selection to modify advanced system features
such as enabling or disabling parity checking, cache, Num Lock, shadowing, IDE
DMA transfer modes, ISA interrupts, and ISA linear buffers.
n
Peripheral Management Setup — Use this selection to set or modify the
peripheral options associated with the I/O controller (i.e., serial and parallel port
addresses).
n
Configure with BIOS Defaults — Use this selection as a fast way to reload the
CMOS RAM with its default values from the ROM table.
n
Configure with Power-On Defaults — Use this selection as a fast way to reload
CMOS with the power up values.
n
Change Password — Use this selection to set or change the system password.
n
Write to CMOS and Exit — Use this selection to save any modifications made to
the Setup program and to exit Setup.
n
Do Not Write to CMOS and Exit — Use this selection to exit the Setup program
without saving.
