Grasp each end of the interface cable connector (not the cable) and
carefully unplug the cable connector from the hard drive. The
connector seats tightly on the hard drive and requires a firm pull.
To prevent damage to the hard drive interface
cable when unplugging it, pull on the cable connector, not the cable.
Use care when removing the drive to avoid damage to the interface cable.

Grasp the plastic tab attached to the hard drive and carefully pull the
drive out of the drive bay. The drive seats tightly in the bay and
requires a firm pull. Set the drive aside.
Hold the hard drive by its sides, not the top and
bottom. Holding it by the top and bottom might inadvertently squeeze the
drive and cause drive failure.
