Installing the Fan Assembly 

To install the fan assembly: 
1.  Position the fan assembly over the fan bay. 
2.  Attach the cables to the fan board at the bottom of the assembly. 
3.  Lower the fan assembly into the fan bay. 
4.  Install the two screws that attach the fan assembly to the chassis. 
5.  Install the fan modules into the fan assembly. 
6.  Install the rear access cover. 

Replacing the Fan Board 

To replace the fan board: 
1.  Remove the fan assembly (page 81).

1.  Remove the two screws attaching the base to the fan assembly (Figure 45, A). 
2.  Rotate the base down and remove it from the fan assembly. 
3.  Remove the four screws securing the fan board to the base. 
4.  Lift up on the board to free it from the snap-top standoffs and remove the board. 
5.  Replace the board, snapping it over the two snap-top standoffs, and reinstall the four screws. 
6.  Reattach the base to the fan assembly and secure it with two screws. 
7.  Install the fan assembly in the fan bay.
