Using the 0505: Extension Assignment Utility
Use 0505: Extension Assignment to change the extension, trunk or Analog
Door Box (DS1000 only) number assigned to a port (circuit).
DS1000:
1.
Enter the programming mode and dial
0505 + HOLD
to enter program
0505: Extension Assignment. You see:
TYPE?
2.
To view extensions, enter
7 + HOLD.
You see:
STATION:
To view trunks, enter
2 + HOLD.
You see:
CO LINE:
To view Analog Door Boxes, enter
3 + HOLD.
You see:
DOOR BOX:

Enter the port number for the device you want to view. For example:
for extension 302, enter 3.
For trunk4, enter 4.
For the second Analog Door Box, enter 2.
Note that each device type (extension, trunk, or Analog Door Box)
has its own set of port numbers.
4.
Press
HOLD
. The currently assigned extension number for the port
selected displays.
5.
Enter a new extension number (100-899) +
HOLD
. You see:
EXTENSION
ASSIGNED!
The system provides a single pool of extension numbers (100-899).
Any port can use any available extension number.
If you see ASSIGNMENT FAILED, the extension number is already
assigned to another port.
DS2000:
1.
Enter the programming mode and dial
0505 + HOLD
to enter program
0505: Extension Assignment. You see:
SLOT NUMBER?

Enter the Main Equipment Cabinet slot number (1-8) for the trunk (401-
448) or extension (300-395) you want to view +
HOLD
. You see
CIRCUIT
NUM?
3.
For the slot selected, enter the number of the port (circuit) you want to
change. +
HOLD
. (For example, the 16DSTU plugged into slot 1 has 16
circuits numbered 1-16.) The assigned extension number displays.
4.
Enter a new extension number from the pool of unassigned extensions
(e.g., extension 380 in the default database) +
HOLD
.
If the number is already assigned to another extension, you see
EXTENSION ASSIGNED! Press
HOLD
and start over again from
step 2.
5.
Return to step 2 to select another extension to change, or press
CONF
to
exit.
