COMPONENT LEVEL TROUBLE SHOOTING
TROUBLE SHOOTING REFERENCE DATA
7.1
The information provided in this section is
intended to assist an experienced electronic technician
in fault diagnosis and isolation. Tables of typical
voltages as well as typical waveforms are provided
for referenced assemblies.
NOTE
The voltage and waveforms provided in this section
are intended to represent the nominal level only.
Component tolerances and carrier frequency may
cause slight differences in the measured and
tabulated data. For voltage levels dependent on the
level of another parameter, that parameter's level
has been noted next to the test voltage in the Test
Voltage/ Waveform column.
All measurements/waveforms recorded with
transmitter output power set to 11 000 watts unless
otherwise specified.
AC/DC POWER SUPPLY
7.2
The following provide key voltage and
waveform tables for the AC/DC power supply.
7.2.1 SWITCHING POWER SUPPLIES:
Table 7-1 provides typical test voltages and
references to waveforms for the switching power
supplies (A6 thru A11). If necessary, refer to the
switching power supply's manual for a schematic
diagram and detailed circuit description.
NOTE
It will be necessary to remove the protective cover
from a particular switching power supply before
most trouble shooting data in table 7-1 can be
verified.
7.2.2 POWER SUPPLY CONTROL PWB:
Table 7-2 provides typical test voltages and refer-
ences to waveforms for the power supply control
PWB (A5A1). If necessary, refer to the power
supply control PWB's manual for schematic
diagrams and detailed circuit description.
7.2.3 LOW VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY
PWB: Table 7-3 provides typical test voltages for
the low voltage power supply PWB (A26A1). If
necessary, refer figure SD-4 of this manual for a
schematic diagram and to section 6 of this manual for
detailed circuit description.
7.2.4 3- PHASE MONITOR PWB: Table 7-4
provides typical test voltages for the 3-phase monitor
PWB (A26A2). If necessary, refer to figure SD-5
for a schematic diagram and to section 6 for a
detailed circuit description.
RF POWER STAGE
7.3
The following section provides trouble
shooting information for the RF power stage.
NOTE
Test voltages/waveforms for the RF power modules
and IPA module have not been provided in this
section due to the inaccessibility of the power
module interface PWB and other PWB's contained
within each module.
7.3.1 RF POWER MODULES: Refer to the
RF power module's manual for trouble shooting
information.
7.3.2 INTERMEDIATE POWER AMPLI-
FIER MODULE: Refer to the intermediate power
amplifier module manual for trouble shooting
information.
CONTROL/MONITOR FUNCTION
7.4
The following section provides trouble
shooting information for the control/monitor function.
7.4.1 CONTROL/MONITOR PWB: Table 7-
5 provides typical test voltages for the control/
monitor PWB (A14). Additional data, specific to
each transmitter, is contained in table 5-5

in this manual. If necessary, refer to the control/
monitor PWB's manual for schematic diagrams and
detailed circuit description.
NOTE
It will be necessary to remove the protective cover
