NI Switches Getting Started Guide
Remove the module from the package and inspect the module for loose
components or any sign of damage. Notify NI if the module appears
damaged in any way. Do
not
install a damaged module in the chassis.
Store the module in the antistatic package when the module is not in use.

4. Installing the Software
National Instruments switch modules are packaged with NI-DAQ 7.
x
driver software which contains three drivers each with a corresponding
API—NI-SWITCH, NI-DAQmx, and Traditional NI-DAQ. Each API
has an extensive library of functions and VIs that you can call from your
application software, such as LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI, to program
your NI switch module.
Confirm the Application Software Version
If you are using NI application software (LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI,
or Measurement Studio), the NI-DAQmx API requires versions 7.
x
or later.
The NI-SWITCH API supports LabVIEW 6.1, LabVIEW 7.
x
, and
LabWindows/CVI 6.0 and later. Install or upgrade your application
software
before
installing the driver software.
