Functions and Syntax
IBIC
displays the following information about each function call
immediately after that call:
•
IBRD
and
IBRDA
data messages are displayed on the screen in
hex and ASCII formats.
•
The global variables
IBSTA
,
IBCNT
, and
IBERR
are displayed
on the screen.
IBIC
and programming languages of Section Four differ in the syntax
of the function call. These differences are shown in Table 5.1. The
main differences are that
IBWRT
,
IBWRTA
,
IBCMD
, and
IBCMDA
messages are entered as strings from the keyboard.
The
BD
unit descriptor is not explicitly a part of
IBIC
function syntax.
Before using any device or board, first call
IBFIND
to open that unit
and to pass the unit descriptor to
IBIC
. The screen prompt identifies
which of these opened units
IBIC
will use in subsequent calls. Use the
SET
function to change from one of these units to another.
