UNPOWERED 3RD PARTY
DEVICE CONNECTION
The relay output from
TLM
can also be used to advise an external 3rd
party electrical device that the telephone line has been cut or
disconnected.
The relay output from
TLM
is Dry Contact (Rated at 1A at 12V).
TLM
’s relay contacts connect to the centre 2 pins of the 4P4C RJ
socket of
TLM
.
This output is ideal for many devices where a simple ‘unpowered’
relay closure is required.
A Connection Box with a short cable to connect it to
TLM
is provided
to allow for quick and easy connection to the external 3rd part device.
The Connection Box has 2 screw terminals for cable connection to the
external 3rd part device.
The Connection Box screw terminals also connect to the centre 2
pins of the 4P4C RJ socket of
TLM
.

If your 3rd party electrical device requires powered output from the
TLM
relay contacts, please refer to pages 14-15.
Important Note : The Dry Contact Relay within TLM is rated at
12V and 1Amp. If you exceed either of these parameters,
permanent damage will result.
