Bed Watcher User’s Guide
7
30.06.2016
Prior using the utility you must connect it to a Bed Watcher device using Connect menu item from Device
menu or corresponding toolbar button. Use Network port and specify IP address of the device. The device
must either have received the IP address from DHCP server in your network or have assigned static IP
address to itself. The default IP address is 192.168.0.101.
If the connection is successful, you will be able to read current device settings by pressing on the screen
buttons. Pressing on the “Get…” buttons does not change settings in the device. Pressing on the “Set…”
buttons makes changes in the device configuration; therefore it must be done with caution.
Below you can read description of the utility buttons:
Get Device ID, Get Device Name, Get Device Class, Get HW Version, Get FW Version - these buttons
let you get information about the device.
It is strongly recommended start communication with the device by pressing on Get Device ID button for
making sure the device responds on the utility requests.
Get Data - this button reads current device status, including collected information about the monitored
object. The following data fields are being read:
Input Voltage, mV - shows the device power status. Input voltage shall not go down below 5400
mV. If it happens there may be an issue in the power circuit and the device must be inspected and
probably repaired. Correct device operation is not guaranteed at the input voltage lower than 5400
mV.
Current Load, mA - shows the device power consumption. It shall not exceed 500 mA. If it
happens there may be an issue in the power circuit and the device must be inspected and probably
repaired. Correct device operation is not guaranteed at the current load greater than 500 mA.
RF Voltage, mV - engineering parameter. Shall be ignored by the user.
MCU Temperature,
º
C - shows the processor temperature. MCU temperature shall not exceed
85
º
C. If it happens there may be an issue in the power circuit and the device must be inspected
and probably repaired. Correct device operation is not guaranteed at the MCU temperatures higher
than 85
º
C.
VCO, MHz - engineering parameter. Shall be ignored by the user.
Energy, units - displays level of activity in the monitored premises.
Respiration, bpm - displays calculated breathing rate in breathes per minute. This value is not
accurate though and shall not be considered for decision making.
Pulse, bpm - displays calculated pulse rate in beats per minute. This value is not accurate though
and shall not be considered for decision making.
Alarm Flag - when set indicates no activity in the monitored premises.
Alarm Duration, s. - displays number of seconds passed since the Alarm Flag was set
Presence Flag - when set indicates activity in the monitored premises. Opposite to the Alarm Flag.
Presence Duration, s. - displays number of seconds passed since the Presence Flag was set
Motion Flag - when set indicates strong movement in the monitored premises. Can be set together
with Presence Flag only.
Motion Duration, s. - displays number of seconds passed since the Motion Flag was set
Run Cycle - this button enables the utility reading the data periodically from the Bed Watcher device. The
value on the right side from the button sets the poll period in seconds. The shortest poll period value is
1 second. Each poll is equivalent to the Get Data button tap.
Set UltraScope mode - engineering button. Switches off the device operation until it is rebooted or
controlled by the UltraScope engineering software.
