As long as power is provided to the 9602-LP, the GPS receiver stores ephemeris data in its
memory before turning off (sleeping between reports). The ephemeris data are valid up to
two hours and can be used in future startup to improve time-to-first-fix. Unlike the 9601-
DGS-LP, the 9602-LP does not need an extra backup battery to retain ephemeris data.
