POWERING THE MOTOR GENERATOR
The motor generator uses a mixture of gasoline or oil as fuel. Petrol is a highly fl ammable fuel.
A spark or other source of igni on can cause fi res, burn injuries or damage to the machine. To avoid the risk of igni on, do not smoke while
the machine is in opera on.
The exhaust gases emi ed by the system can cause health problems when inhaled in large quan es. If the quan es emi ed are large enough,
it is recommended to wear a breathing mask during work.
Only fuel the generator in well-ven lated areas, generally outdoors.
Always keep the engine switched off when refuelling.
To avoid any possibility of injury or burns when opening the fi ller cap due to the pressure generated by the concentra on of vapours in the
tank, it is recommended to open the cap slowly so that emptying is done slowly.
Never open the cap while the motor is running.
Always clean the area around the fi ller cap thoroughly in case of leakage during fi lling and check for leaks during opera on.
The
Olive Harves ng Machine
can be operated by a single person. Do not allow other people to be near you during opera on. Keep other persons not
related to your work away from the work area.
To reduce the risk of injury, do not start opera on of the machine if the rota on speed has not been set correctly.
Important warnings
Always maintain your balance. Be careful when the ground is slippery, sloping or uneven. Pay par cular a en on to any obstacles during opera on.
Use the machine only in an outdoor, well-ven lated area. There is a possibility that the exhaust gases emi ed by the machine during
opera on may cause health problems for operators if it is operated indoors or in an unven lated area.
Also, if the trees being shaken have been sprayed with pes cides, the operator should be informed about the proper es of the chemical substance used.
When shaking branches there is a possibility that dust and pollen will be li ed from the tree. Persons who are allergic to these substances should avoid
working with the machine. It is recommended that the shaking of branches be done in such a way that dust and pollen - depending on the weather
condi ons - are carried away from the operator. If this is not possible, the operator should wear the recommended breathing mask.
The plas c rods of the
Olive Harves ng Machine
con nue to move for a short period of me a er the motor has been switched off .
Opera ng the machine while the plas c rods are prevented from moving will result in the overhea ng of the machine and possible damage to
components.
To avoid the risk of wrist injuries, the rota on speed should not be allowed to fl uctuate during the tree shaking process. This also helps to protect the
operator from the vibra ons generated by the fl uctua ons.
Work calmly and never during the night. Be careful when working so that any foreign objects do not injure any bystanders.
Do not work under extreme weather condi ons (rain, frost, snow). Also, be very careful in case there are obstacles such as roots, stones, pits and other
obstacles in the working area. Par cular care must be exercised when working on sloping or so ground.
Never use the
Olive Harves ng Machine
near power lines. There is a risk of electric shock.
Never hold the
Olive Harves ng Machine
with one hand while working. Always hold the machine with both hands, one holding the handle fi rmly and
the other holding the s ck.
During the branch shaking process, avoid foreign objects as they may cause the machine to fl y away from the operator’s hands and this may injure the
operator or any bystanders.
In order for the operator to have good control of the machine, he/she must stand properly and maintain his/her balance. Never work while standing on a
ladder or while standing on any unstable ground.
Clear any obstacles and branches from your work area. Keep your work area clean and move any branches that fall while using the machine to a
designated, convenient place. Keep your equipment in a safe place away from the area where branches will fall.
Only operators are allowed within a radius of 5 metres when the machine is opera ng.
(Risk of fl ying debris)
The ejec on of olives may cause injury. Always wear protec ve equipment such as safety goggles, a protec ve helmet and protec ve gloves when opera ng
the machine.
