For straight shafts (attached to motor shaft base)
The following is an example when fixing the input gear to the motor shaft using a set screw.
Perform steps 1 to 3 by taking care regarding the following precautions.
• Avoid impact to the motor shaft when attaching the input gear.
Avoid impact to the motor shaft when attaching the input gear, as it could damage the motor.
Step 1
• Attach a key to the motor shaft.
Step 2
• Attach the input gear to the motor shaft.
• Check that there is no foreign matter adhering to the mounting surface.
If there is foreign matter adhering to the mounting surface, appropriate installation accuracy cannot
be obtained. It could cause deterioration of performance, such as abnormal noise and vibration, and
also lead to damage of the motor.
Step 3
• Tighten the input gear and motor shaft using a set screw.
• Using a thread-locking sealant for screws, lock the set screw.
If a thread-locking sealant is not used for the set screw, a clearance will be generated in the keyway,
which could cause deterioration of performance, such as abnormal noise and vibration, and also
lead to damage of the motor.
