5.2. Installation work
The installation procedure may differ from the contents of this manual, depending on the shape of
the components designed by the customer.
5.2.1. Installing the reduction gear
The following describes the installation of the reduction gear.
• The reduction gear is coated with rust prevention oil before shipping. Wipe off the rust prevention oil
as necessary during installation. In particular, do not fail to wipe off the rust prevention oil from the
mounting surface.
• When you order the motor flange mounting type, the product may be delivered with a motor flange
already mounted. In such a case, it may not be possible to install the product in the customer’s
equipment as it is, depending on the installation method and tools to be used (Fig. 5-1). Check the
condition of your equipment and install the product using the correct procedure.
