Caution – Use proper grounding methods to avoid electro-static discharge.  Even an undetectable amount of static energy can cause electronic

chips to fail.  A ground strap, connected to a proper earth-ground device yields the best results.

7.

Using the three plastic standoffs installed in step 5 as a guide, place the Audio Storage Card in the proper location.

8.

Using your thumb and index finger from both hands, seat the card header onto the three sets of pins on the receiver motherboard.

9.

Looking between the receiver motherboard and Audio Storage Card, verify that all the pins mated to the proper location.  Look at both sides

of each of the three connectors that mate the motherboard and Audio Storage Card.

10.

You are now ready to reassemble the Encompass LE, returning all the hardware in the reverse order as outlined above.  Note:  It is easier to

first apply the nuts to the RF section to assist in lining up the screw holes.  Use care to prevent stripping the soft screws.  Avoid over-tightening.

Operation of Audio Storage Card

1.

The Encompass LE must contain software version 106 or higher.  This can be verified by holding both   and

buttons on the front panel

at the same time for 2 seconds to enter the diagnostic mode.  When in diagnostic mode, you should see the following display:

2.

Once in diagnostic mode, press   or   until the menu displays the following:

3.

Press Enter button to display code version. Below is an example of what you might see:

V 1 0 6    B K 1 0 6    X A 1 0 0

The first number (“V”) is the application firmware version.  The “BK” is the backup application version and the “XA” is the Audio Storage Card

software version number.  The Audio Storage Card will not work with any application version prior to 106.  Muzak NOC updates the receiver

firmware at regular intervals throughout the day.  If the unit you are installing this Audio Storage Card into has been on-line during one of the

scheduled updates it should have the proper version.  However, if it does not, you will need to wait until version 106 or higher is loaded.

4.

Once the card is installed and the proper receiver firmware is operating, it must be authorized via the Muzak Encompass LE Web Control.

The receiver must be locked to the T4 signal before it can be authorized.  A good way to ensure that the receiver is locked is to verify that the

green LED inside the receiver is illuminated.

B: Side Program Selection

After the receiver is authorized, programming on the B: side of the receiver can be accessed by pressing and releasing the enter button when the

display shows a non-blinking program name. When you press and release enter the display will change from A: to B:.  You can change programs

using the   or

arrows followed by pressing and releasing the enter key.
