Assembling Discharge Chute
•
Attach retainer hook, from Group E of hardware
pack, to the blank hole on the deck as shown in
Figure 12. Secure with a self-tapping screw.
•
Attach one of the two retainer straps to the
discharge chute with a hex bolt, flat washer and
flange nut as shown in Figure 13. Repeat with the
second retainer strap on the other side.
•
Attach the chute strap to the discharge chute at the
remaining hole with a hex bolt, flat washer and
flange nut. See Figure 13.
•
Position the 12" trim seal along the top edge of the
discharge chute assembly as shown in Figure 13,
then press the trim seal fully onto the edge.
NOTE:
Any or all these straps may already be pre-
assembled at the factory. If so, proceed to next step.

Raise the deck to its highest position.
•
Raise the chute deflector on the deck and hold it
while you position the discharge chute over the
chute opening.
•
Insert the hinge pin of the discharge chute into the
tube on the chute stop bracket. See Figure 14.
•
Rotate chute around the deck so that its bottom
edge fits under the deck opening and the top edge
fits over the back edge of the deck.
•
Lower the chute deflector slowly.
•
Attach chute strap to the retainer clip on the deck.

Insert a grasscatcher pin through the hole on the
chute tube as shown in Figure 15. Secure it with a
flange lock nut from inside the chute tube. Both are
in Group E of the hardware pack.
•
Attach the remaining grasscatcher pin at the
second hole on the chute tube.

Insert the lower end of the chute extension over the
discharge chute so that its two notches fit into the
two corresponding notches on the discharge chute.
•
Insert the curved end of the chute tube into the hole
in the grass bag cover.
•
Insert the other end of the chute tube into the open
end of the chute extension. Refer to Figure 13.
