3. Wearing
3.1 OptiHood Demi (Fig.1 - 3)
Pull the face piece over the head so
that the visor is in front of the face
and arrange the elastic face seal
under the chin. If necessary adjust the
over head [1] and nape straps [2] for
a comfortable gapless fit between the
face and the hood, it must be ensured
that the elasticated edge of the hood
fits snugly against the skin particularly
down the sides of the face adjacent to
the ears.
3.2 OptiHood Full (Fig. 4 - 6)
Don the face piece as for the
OptiHood Demi then adjust the
drawstring for a comfortable snug but
not tight fit around the neck always
ensure that you can place your
fingers under the drawstring against
your throat without force or
discomfort.
3.3 OptiTop (Fig. 7 - 9)
Adjust the headband such that the
hood fits comfortably and adjust the
drawstring for a comfortable snug but
not tight fit around the neck always
ensure that you can place your
fingers under the drawstring against
your throat without force or
discomfort. The visor, eye protector,
conforms to EN 166:1995 and is only
suitable for the uses marked on the
lens. (see Table 1) If the lens
becomes scratched or damaged the
hood should be replaced. The helmet
system consists of a shell and
suspension which work together as a
unit conforming to EN 397:1995
(options as indicated on the helmet
and in Table 2) and must not be
modified. Place helmet on the head
and push down until comfortable
wearing height is reached. The
suspension size can be adjusted
between sizes 52 and 64 by turning
the knob. The Helmet provides limited
protection. It reduces the effect of
objects striking the top of the shell but
does not provide significant protection
against lateral impact. Avoid contact
with live wires. Do not place objects
between the suspension, shell or
wearers head.
3.4 General
Arrange the breathing tube so that it
trails freely down the back and is not
kinked or looped and cannot be
inadvertently pinched. After use do
not remove the face piece until clear
of the hazard zone. Remove the
hood, disconnecting hose and if
necessary use a moist rag to clean
and sanitise the face piece and hose.
Care should be taken to avoid
scratching the visor. Any damaged
components should be replaced.
