1 Application
The MSA AUER SSR 30/100 B TR is the training unit for the chemical oxygen
self-rescuer MSA AUER SSR 30/100 B
With this training unit donning and breathing of the MSA AUER SSR 30/100 B
can be practised without a chemical canister.
The training unit is not a respiratory protective device, i.e. it may be used only
in breathable ambient air.
2 Functioning
The MSA AUER SSR 30/100 B TR is comparable to the actual unit as far as
size, weight and principal outer design are concerned. The inhalation air, how-
ever, is drawn from the ambient atmosphere via an inhalation valve in the
breathing tube. The exhalation air is passed via a connecting piece with check
valve through the canister into the breathing bag and then expelled via an ex-
halation valve to the ambient atmosphere.
If another person has to do the training with the same unit it is only necessary
to screw in a new or disinfected breathing tube with a connecting piece.
The design and air flow of the MSA AUER SSR 30/100 B TR are illustrated and
explained in the following schematic.
3 Differences to the Emergency Apparatus
Main components of the training unit are
not
identical with the respective com-
ponents of the emergency unit. For this reason they are either marked blue or
designed such that an interchange is rendered difficult.

The container has a blue label.

The breathing tube with mouthpiece and nose clip has holes on the upper
side and is screwed into the canister with a connecting piece and thus is
easily removable.
