Loading and use
1. Unscrew the head-piece (201), set in the cartridge (central fire, cal. 9 x 17 mm) with the
percussion cap on high. The power of the cartridge-load is marked by coloured rings on the
percussion cap.
green - light
for pigs and small cattle
yellow - middle
for cows, horses, small oxen
blue - heavy
for heavy oxen and bulls
red - very heavy
for heaviest cattle
2. Screw on the head-piece (201) tightly to the right. Take care that the annular spring (212) is
not distorted. The opening must be opposite to the trigger.
3. Pull out the striking pin (208) by the striking pin nut (209) until the trigger (211) catches
audibly. The apparatus is now cocked.
4. The apparatus is firmly to be set with both hands on the skull of the animal – head-piece
(201) with trigger (211) and striking pin nut (209) on high – and the shot is to be started by a
pressure on the trigger
(211). Pay attention that the trigger is completely pressed.
5. If the cartridge-case should get jammed it can be pulled out with the extractor on the trigger
(211) by putting it into the groove in the cartridge-magazine (=intermedite piece 202).
6. ATTENTION! Set the apparatus on the skull of the animals always as firmly as possible, do not
set on edge: Make it a point never to hold against your body the lower end of the apparatus
out of which projects the bolt (205), at the very least so when examining some possible
jamming.
7. If the apparatus fails to go off, proceed as follows: Screw off the head-piece (201) and take
out the cartridge. Examine if the striking pin (208) is in order. Otherwise send apparatus to the
producer.
8. IN ANY CASE AVOID FREE SHOTS – FIRE TRIAL SHOTS ONLY AGAINST THICK WOODEN
SUPPORT!
9. A good functioning of the apparatus is warranted if you use the ammunition you got from us.
