To Brew Iced Tea

(cont’d)

4. Slide the steeping basket on top of the

water reservoir until it fits into place
and then secure lid on top of basket

(Figure C).

Make sure the steeping dial

is in the closed position

(Figure D)

.

5. Fill the pitcher with ice cubes to the

desired capacity as indicated by the
1, 2 and 3 quart ICE levels marked on
the pitcher

(Figure E)

. Place the pitcher lid

on the pitcher.

Cold tap water can be used as

a substitute for ice cubes. Instead of filling the
pitcher with ice cubes, simply refill the pitcher
with cold water a second time to the desired 1, 2
or 3 quart WATER level. Do not fill to the ICE
level or your pitcher may overflow
during brewing.
Refrigerate to chill.

6. Slide the pitcher with lid, spout first, under the

machine. Make sure the spout lid is open

(Figure F)

.

7. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet and

depress the push button (ON). The indicator
light will illuminate to let you know the
machine is on.

P

N

The first time the machine is

used, it may not be necessary to depress the
push button (ON) to turn the machine on, simply
plugging the machine into an outlet will start the
brewing cycle. Also, if the push button (ON) is
depressed before the machine is plugged into
an outlet, plugging the machine into an outlet
will start the brewing cycle.

8. When the brewing cycle is completed, The iced

teamaker will shut off automatically. Drain the
remainder of the tea in the steeping basket by
turning the steeping dial to “OPEN”

(Figure G)

.

For extra strength, wait a few minutes

before draining the remaining tea into
the pitcher.

To Brew Iced Coffee

Follow the instructions for iced tea using the suggested amount of coffee in the
chart listed on Page 7.

C

AUTION

:

Decaffeinated coffee, particularly when used with chemically

softened water, can cause slower filtration.

Daily Care

To maintain the quality of all parts and minimize tea stains, we recommend
washing the pitcher, pitcher lid, steeping basket and lid with warm water
and a mild detergent, regularly. T

Hard water can leave whitish mineral deposits inside the pitcher and steeping
basket. Tea and coffee discolor these deposits. To remove, fill the basket
and pitcher with warm white vinegar and let it soak for about 20 minutes.

Do not use harsh, abrasive cleaners. They will cause scratches which
can lead to breakage.

Deliming

This unit must be delimed when you begin to notice an increase in steaming
or if the pumping action stops before all the water has been pumped out of
the machine.

The frequency of cleaning depends on the hardness of water used.
Listed below are the suggested cleaning intervals.

This iced teamaker may be delimed using vinegar or MR. C   FFEE
