Care of the vehicle

Directional tyres

Only fit one spare tempo rary tyre at any 

one time.

Do not drive over 80 km/h. 

Drive slowly through bends. 

Do not use over a prolonged period. If your 

vehicle gets a puncture while being towed 

by another vehicle, fit the temporary spare 

wheel at the front and the normal wheel at 

the rear.

In the event of fitting directional tyres in

the opposite direction, follow the advice

below :

■ Road holding may be altered. Have the

faulty tyre replaced or repaired as soon as

possible.

■ In rainy or icy conditions, drive extremely

carefully.

If a jack, a wheel or other

equipment is stowed in the boot

without being correctly attached,

it can cause serious injury. In a

sudden collision, the loose

elements could hit someone.

Always tidy the wheel, the jack

and the tools in the purposedesigned 

storage compartment

and attach them correctly.

 Attention

Never start a vehicle with the aid of a rapid

charger. When the battery is flat, start the

engine with the aid of jump leads and the

battery of another vehicle.

■ Do not have naked flames or sparks

close to the battery.

■ A flat battery can freeze at a

termperature of 0 °C. Thaw the frozen

battery before connecting the jump start

cables.

■ If you are working in close proximity to

the battery, wear safety glasses and

protective clothing.

■ Use a starter battery of the same voltage

(12 volts). Its capacity (Ah) must not be

much less than the flat battery.

■ Do not disconnect the flat battery from

the on-board power system.

■ Turn off all non-essential devices..

Starting a vehicle with the

aid of auxiliary jump cables

Starting a vehicle with auxiliary jump

leads must be carried out with the

greatest care. Not following the

directions below could cause either

accidents or damage by causing the

battery to explode or damage to the

electrical circuits of both vehicles.

Avoid contact with eyes, skin, fabrice

and painted surfaces. Battery liquid

contains sulphuric acid which can

cause burns and damage on direct

contact.

Fit directional tyres in such a way that the

running direction is facing the right way.

The direction of rotation can be reco-

gnised by a symbol (for example an 

arrow) placed on the side of the tyre.
