flashing cursor
A blinking vertical line that indicates the
current text entry position in a text message. See also:

form
A group of related input fields.
fringe area
The outermost range of a wireless system where
signals are weak.
H
hands-free mode
A mode where your phone sends and
receives sound through an external speakerphone or headset
rather than its internal microphone and earpiece. It is for use in
situations like driving, where you need both hands free.
help (interactive services)
Some network service providers
offer help during interactive services. An M in the center of the
lowest display line indicates when help is available.
I
icon
One of the variety of symbols used to designate menu
features and messages.
idle
The state your phone is in when it is on but no action is
taking place.
inbox
The place where your phone puts messages when they
arrive. There, you can read, lock, forward, or delete messages.
You have one inbox for text messages, and one for information
services messages. You can customize how your inboxes handle
messages (you must configure an inbox before you can use it).
