SBV5422 SURFboard Digital Voice Modem

SBV5422Home Alarm System Configuration (Optional)

Most home alarm systems are wired to traditional telephone service. Home owners can rewire their 

alarm systems from traditional phone service to

 

VOIP by moving a cable from one jack to another jack.

Purchase a RJ31X cable and RJX31X connector (not included).

Locate where the traditional phone service enters the house. 

3

Mount the RJ31X connector to the wall. Place the device close to where the telephone 
service enters the house. 

4

Splice in the telephone service to the wall mounted RJ31X as shown

 in the diagram below.

Wire the RJ31X cable to alarm panel

.

Plug the 

RJ31X 

cable into wall mounted RJ31X connector.
