3. Using the phone
NOTE
Your conferencing unit will automatically time the duration of all external calls, the call
timer will display on the screen. When the call ends, the total duration of your talk time is
shown for 5 seconds.
3.1 Switch the conferencing unit on / off
Press and hold
e
to switch the conferencing unit on or off.
3.2 Calls
3.2.1 Make a call
1. Press
t

2. When you hear the dial tone, dial the number.
3.2.2 Preparatory dialling
1. Dial the number first. If you make a mistake press Clear to delete the last digit.
2. Press
t
, to dial the number.
NOTE
To enter a pause (P) when pre-dialling, see page 19.
3.2.3 Make a call using fast call keys
1. Press and hold the relevant keypad number to dial the pre-stored number directly.
NOTE
To store a fast call number, see page 23.
3.2.4 End a call
Press
e
, or place the conferencing unit back on the base.
3.2.5 Receive a call
When you receive an external call, the phone rings and External Call shows on the display.
1. If the conferencing unit is off the base then press
t
to answer the call, or if the
conferencing unit is on the base simply lift the conferencing unit to answer the call.
NOTE
If you prefer to press
t
when you lift up the conferencing unit to answer a call, you will
need to switch Auto Talk off, see page 33.
