Espresso
troubleshooting
1 Product was filled with water for 4 cups
but only filled to 2 cups line on jug.
• This is normal. The levels on the jug are
marked to indicate how much water is to
be put in to get that amount of coffee out.
(A certain amount of water is absorbed by
the coffee and some water evaporates
during the brewing process).
2 The unit is set to brew but nothing
seems to be happening.
• It takes a few minutes for the coffee to
appear in the jug after the brewing
process begins. This time is because the
unit has to heat up.
3 After several minutes there appears to
be nothing happening.
• Have you followed the instructions for
making Espresso coffee step by step?
• Is the pressure cap screwed tightly in
place?
• Was too much coffee put into the filter OR
was the coffee damp before it was put
into the machine?
If this is believed to be the reason for the
problem, then switch off the power and
allow the unit to cool for several minutes.
Remove the pressure cap SLOWLY.
Remove the filter holder and discard the
coffee in the filter. Set up the machine
again carefully following the instructions.
Until the brewing process has
completed, never remove the filter
holder without releasing excess steam
by removing the pressure cap.
4 Steam is emitted from the filter area
• Ensure that the filter is in the filter holder
and that the filter holder is fitted correctly
in place. DO NOT overfill the filter with
coffee.
