Installation
Section 8: Installing the Accessories
If the firestones are not placed properly (ONE LAYER ONLY),
ON N.G., uneven flame pattern will result. The firestones will
get very hot while the fireplace is in operation, and should not
be handled until cool.
Installing the Firestones:
N.G. (Natural Gas) Fireplaces
The
L38DF*
is supplied with firestones. Remove the Door and trim as
shown in the previous Instruction. Follow these instructions to ensure
all parts are removed or replaced as required. Once the Trim and glass
doors are removed place the firestones randomly across the pan and
the burners as described in
Figure 28 to 28b
.
Note: (N.G.) Natural Gas models, Only cover the Optional burner
covers with one layer of designer firestones.

Installing the Firestones: L.P. (Propane) Fireplaces
Propane L38DF* Fireplaces, has the option of installing the optional
cultured rocks or firestones. As described below, CAUTION, the firestones
or cultured rocks cannot cover the burners. Doing so produces an
undesirable / uneven flame pattern, and eventual sooting. Install as
shown,

Optional River Rocks
The
L38DF*
has the option of installing the cultured rocks which mimic
real stone. These may be spaced at random, or in a visual pattern of
your preference, without touching the flame. See the Montigo web site
for photographs and ideas.
